Reach far, step close

"Whether it's in your business, personal relationships, finances or health, living hard is neither adding to your joy nor the joy of the universe"

It’s taken me a while (a few decades, actually) to begin to believe and truly appreciate that life is vast.  Limitless, to be exact.

So you think you’ve heard that before?  Really?  Funny, I did too.  Truth is, I wasn’t really listening. And I certainly wasn’t getting it.

You see, what I’m beginning to understand now is this:
If life is vast (or limitless, but let’s give it some boundary for now), then staying close to where you mentally are i.e. not reaching far, is hardly living.  You could say it’s living hard.

Let me explain what I mean by ‘living hard’ with my checklist.  Let’s see how many of the following you say yes to:

LIVING HARD (NOT!) CHECKLIST
  • I visualize frequently –  several times a day
  • I don’t try to manipulate the variables (as I see them) in a situation in order to change it.  Instead, I focus on the outcome that I most desire and work from that as my starting point.
  • I don’t accept anything as ‘given’ because I realize that the ‘given’ is an outcome of my past decisions, beliefs and experiences.
  • I truly believe that anything is possible even when I haven’t a clue how to make it happen
  • I believe that when one door closes, I have (Infinity – 1) doors to choose to walk through
  • When it comes to important decisions, I begin by allowing my imagination to run free, bringing my mind to focus on the things that make me feel most joyful.  Once I have fully enjoyed this mental experience, I give myself permission to take steps in its direction
  • I believe that life is meant to be enjoyable.  Suffering (or failure) is not mandatory.
How did you go?  Are you still hot under the collar and arguing with some of the ideas in that checklist?  In other words, are you still staying mentally close to all your existing beliefs and consequently unable and/or unwilling to reach far?

Or, have you been grinning blissfully as you answered ‘Yes!’, ‘Yes!!’ and ‘Yessss!!!” to most if not all of those questions?

Life is vast.  If you want to truly live, to feel ravishingly alive, then you have to reach far.  Forget the ‘given’ and go wayyyyyyyyy beyond it.  Whether it's in your business, your career, your family life, your relationship or your finances.

Stop choosing from a ‘given’ (and limited) set of options.  Create ones that sit far out there in the field of infinite possibilities and pitch your unwavering gaze on it.  Luxuriate in it and let the intelligence of the universe guide you to it –

intuitively as well as rationally
creatively as well as practically
joyously as well as purposefully
chaotically as well as orderly-ly :)

That’s right.  Stop settling for anything less than what you truly desire and what is truly joyous.  For goodness sake, stop living hard.  It doesn't add to your personal joy or the joy of the universe.  Instead,

Reach far and step close to what you truly desire!
